Women’s Hill Top Golf

The Stroke, Monthly Medal event sponsored by Drummond Golf and Newton’s Parcel Service was played in hot summer-like conditions.

A Grade winner was Sue Turnbull scoring 72 nett, and Niki Miller runner/up with 73 nett.

A popular win in B Grade went to a very happy Robyn Butler who scored her possible personal best with 69 nett. Runner/up was Sharon Jeffers with 73 nett.

Scratch winner was Jan Coe with 88 strokes.

Ball Winners: Jan Coe, Phyl Fiddes, Janette Hayward 74, Chris Beard, Deb Reilly, Liz Mulcahy 75 nett.

Nearest to the Pins: 3rd Blossom’s with Love: Kerry Gross, 6th Tatura Hot Bread and 9th Café Alofa: Heather Long, 14th One-4-One: Nike Miller.

Nine Hole Event: Roylyn Harris won with 34 nett.

Veteran Final: The final was played last week between Judy Baker and Janette Hayward. Both players shared similar handicaps with Janette getting an advantage on one hole only.

The game was closely fought with Judy being two shots at the turn.

Congratulations to Janette who eventually took the lead for the first time on the twentieth hole and won the day.

The gallery following the pair were treated to a tight game with players appreciating the support as the game went to the extra holes.

Pennant: The last game for the season was played at Valley View yesterday with Hill Top girls playing Mooroopna.

The Valley View team remain on top and will win the flag for the South West Zone.

They will now play the winners of the West Zone on Monday December 2nd, Flag Day at Hill Top.
