A South Australian MP facing more than 20 theft and dishonesty charges is to return to court for the first time since being re-elected at the March state election.
Troy Bell is listed to come before the Mount Gambier Magistrates Court on Monday on 20 counts of dishonestly taking property without consent and six counts of dishonestly dealing with documents.
Bell is accused of misappropriating more than $2 million from a training provider.
He was first elected in the seat of Mount Gambier as a Liberal in 2014 but quit the party after his arrest in August last year.
He said before the poll he had decided to stand to ensure voters had the opportunity to elect the candidate of their choice.
Bell eventually retained the seat with more than 60 per cent of the two-party preferred vote.
