Big hitters at Tennis Hot Shots in Tatura

By Tatura Guardian

An enthusiastic group of children took to the courts of Tatura Lawn Tennis Club to try their hand at tennis on Sunday.

About 10 children aged five to nine years old from the local area came along for the free session.

Ranging in skill levels, tennis coach David Starling said the event gave children the opportunity to give tennis a go.

‘‘You want to see kids playing sport and I think tennis is one of the greatest sports there is,’’ Mr Starling said.

‘‘It’s great having kids share this love of the sport.’’

Mr Starling is hosting a four-week tennis program for children starting Saturday, February 9, from 10.15am at Tatura Lawn Tennis Club.

Children of all ages will have the opportunity to learn basic ball skills, including improved hand-eye coordination to sustain a rally.

Each session is 45 minutes and the cost is $25 for the four weeks.
