The summer season of golf began with a Stroke and Monthly Medal event, which included the start of the summer points for the Mary Lally Cup and Eclectic points.

Jan Coe jumped out of the blocks early to claim the first of the Monthly Medals for the summer competition, and also a win in A-grade with 71 nett on count-back.

Janette Hayward had a great round also, carding a 71 nett which saw her lose on count-back to Jan.

B-grade was won by Barb Nation, scoring 74 nett. Lyn Flett was runner-up with 76 nett.

Ball winners: Joan Hill and Joyce Tavener 74, Terri Wangeman and Heather Long 77 nett.

Nearest-the-pins:Gallery Café third: Jan Coe; Tatura Hot Bread sixth: Janette Hayward; Café Alofa ninth: Barb Nation; One4One Café 14th: Joyce Tavener.

Nine-hole competition: Heather Wildes made a welcome return to golf and scored a win, hopefully giving her encouragement to play more often.

Summer 4BBB Pennant: Hill Top had the bye last week, and travelled to Valley View for the final match of the season, to play top team Shepparton on Sunday.

Shepparton had a good win last week to bring it level with Hill Top on team points.

The game was a must win for Hill Top, as it hopes to make the final on flag day at Rich River against the North Division the following week. Results next week.

Coming events: Presentation day and Christmas lunch on December 12, Kris Kringle present to the value of $10. A special Christmas lunch will be provided by chef Andrew at a cost of $25 each.
