Feeling the warmth on our skin is bringing out the Indiana Jones in all of us, with the Shepparton Adventure Club scheduling its latest trip to Glenrowan this weekend.
The club runs a variety of outdoor activities for its members in a sociable setting with guidance and instruction available in a non-competitive environment.
Club member Richard Graves said the club’s activities during the years had included rock climbing, abseiling, canoeing, kayaking, cross-country skiing, snow-caving, camping. bushwalking, rafting, mountaineering, canyoning and cycle touring.
‘‘The club now caters mainly for bushwalking, anything from easy, half-day walks to strenuous week-long walks in remote areas, cross-country skiing, canoeing and kayaking, cycle touring, social camping and social gatherings,’’ Mr Graves said.
SAC activities cover all states of Australia and meet monthly for the occasion.
‘‘We also have a group of largely retirees that meet on the fourth Wednesday of each month, our mid-week walkers for relatively easy walking and socialising in an area within one to two hours of Shepparton,’’ Mr Graves said.
SAC has two activities coming up this month, a winery bike ride on September 15 and a walk through the Strathbogie Ranges to Rocky Ned on September 26.
