A boy, 17, was arrested last week following the alleged stabbing of a man in Murchison on Saturday, September 1.
A police spokesperson said Shepparton Crime Investigation Unit detectives were investigating following an alleged altercation between the boy and a man, 31, both from Tatura.
Police said the alleged stabbing occurred shortly before 10.30pm at a Bendigo-Murchison Rd address.
Four people were arrested at the scene.
The boy was charged with intentionally causing serious injury, intentionally causing injury, assault with a weapon and possessing a controlled weapon.
Police said the three others arrested — two boys, 15, and a woman, 37 — were interviewed and released pending further inquiries.
