‘We just love people of Ky’

By Lachlan Durling

FOR Greg and Maureen Walsh, it seems not much has changed other than one more grandchild in the family.

They’re still offering the same great service you’ve come to expect, stocking the same quality products and giving top-notch advice.

So much so that one of their regular customers comes from Mooroopna to their Autopro shop. Now that’s customer loyalty.

But for the Walshes it’s just another day, another satisfied customer.

Born and bred in Kyabram, Greg and his father, Albert Walsh, bought the store in 1984.

Originally located where Mister Embroidery is now, the shop moved to 247 Allan St before making a final transition to its current location in 2014.

“Hopefully we’ll have no more shifts,” Maureen said.

“The store has just kept getting bigger and bigger. We had to move and adapt as the store continued to evolve.”

After investing in the Autopro franchise by expanding their store, Kyabram Autopro was awarded the Brand Excellence Award in 2015.

“We were selected for the award out of the whole of Victoria, which was very exciting,” Maureen said.

With Greg and Maureen taking sole ownership of the store eight years ago, Autopro has continued to be a local family business.

‘‘Greg calls it the ‘Autopro Creche’, because the store is often filled with the grandkids,’’ Maureen said.

‘‘We love it — plus they’re really handy when we need help with the dusting.’’

The Walshes said the community had been huge supporters of the store over the years.

“We just love the people of Kyabram. We were talking today about how lovely and friendly our customers are,” Maureen said.

“It’s a great town and we’re very passionate about giving back to the community wherever we can.”

As part of Ky in July, Autopro will be offering 15 per cent off storewide and up to 25 per cent off selected items on Saturday July 14 and 28. For more information, call 5852 3463.
