What’s happening at Tatura Senior Citizens

By Morgan Dyer

Last Wednesday, 13 seniors members enjoyed a lovely three-course meal for just $10.50 — the perks of being a Tatura Senior Citizens Club member.

The lunch started with vegetable soup followed by delicious roast chicken and fresh vegetables for the main. Sweet tooths were kept happy, as jelly, peaches and cream was served for dessert.

Other senior locals could be enjoying this lavish lunch every Wednesday, too. The club invites any senior to join the friendly people at the club from noon.

However, if lunch doesn't take your fancy, over 55s could pay $2 for an afternoon of bowls, cards and pool while enjoying a delicious snack and cuppa.

This week eight seniors had fun playing bowls, with John Hammond, Morrie Serra, Alan Brown and Bob Lopicolo taking out top spot.

This week's card master was Margaret Chance while the weekly competition was won by Merle Krause. Big congratulations to all the winners.

A reminder for committee members not to forget the first meeting of the year.

The meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 19 at 10.30 am.

This meeting will give new and existing members the chance to share their vision for the club in 2020. So come along.
