The stableford Kath Flanagan teams event was played in sunny conditions, leaving winter behind and welcoming in spring.
A good field came to play in the teams event, which was sponsored by Trish Warnett. Trish has generously sponsored this event for many years in honour of her mother Kath Flanagan, who was an excellent treasurer and respected golf member.
Four cards are drawn out randomly at the end of play to decide the winning team, with the scores added together.
The lucky winners with their scores were: Sheryl Curran 36, Janette Hayward 24, Larysa Phillingham 39, and Lois Rogers 37 for a grand total of 136 points.
Runners-up were: Joyce Tavener 34, Robyn Downs 26, Kerry Gross 30, and Pat Serra 35, totalling 125 points.
Roylyn Harris would have to be the unluckiest player of the day, as she played one of her best rounds scoring 40 points which would normally be rewarded with the top prize, but unfortunately it happened to be on a teams event day. Captain Terri showed some compassion, giving Roylyn a ball and marker, going a little way to ease the pain!
Nearest-the-pins: 3rd Blossoms with Love: Heather Long; 6th Tatura Hot Bread: Sue Turnbull; 9th Café Alofa: Deb Reilly; 14th One-4-One Café: Larysa Phillingham.
Wednesday: Stroke: This event will also be played in conjunction with Jarrod Lyle’s charity, the Hill Top Brooch, Silver Spoon play-off, and Veterans Round 1: Sponsored by Tatura Farm Supplies.

Women are encouraged to support this charity by a gold coin donation and by wearing something yellow.
