Tatura Basketball Association finals kicked off with semi-finals this week.
Next week all preliminary finals will be played on Wednesday — tip off is at 5.30pm for C-grade and D-grade, 6.30pm for B-grade and 7.30pm for A-grade.
Bulls 52 def Celtics 41
After a close first 10 minutes when neither team could break away, Bulls got out to a six-point lead, and despite Celtics’ best efforts they were unable to bridge the gap.
Top scorers for Bulls were Riley O’Neill and Ryan Hatch with 20 points each, and for Celtics Jarom Owen-Horn scored 22 points and Nic Watt eight points.
Magic 41 def Heat 39
This was a hard-fought game between two evenly-matched teams.
Heat played the better shooting game to be up 24-17 at half-time, and held a seven-point lead with two minutes to go.
But Magic showed that the game wasn’t over until the final siren sounded, with a fantastic come-from-behind run resulting in an intercept and buzzer beater that saw them finish two points ahead and move straight through to the grand final.
Top scorers for Magic were Josh Evans 20 points and Ben Green 10 points, and for Heat Dan Hall hit 27 points and Floyd Vincitorio eight points.

Bulls 46 def Celtics 24
Bulls played a great game, winning 46 to 24.
Celtics gave it their all but couldn’t quite get there.
Oliver Beaumont was the top scorer for Bulls with 22 points, while Makai Stanton, Cooper O’Neill and Charles Piercy added to the score.
Trent Benjamin was the top-scorer for Celtics with 10 points and the other scorers were Jack Risstrom, Jack Arnel and Sebastian Vraca.
Magic 38 def v Heat 20
Magic played a great team game where everything went their way, winning 38 to 20.
Patrick Forster had a great game scoring 15 points.
Other scorers were Reece Butler, Emre Coskun, Kade Walker and Ryan Shelley.
Top-scorer for Heat was Zayden Lockwood with 14 points.
Other scorers were Kristofer Answer, Will Geerling and Joth Mallon.

Celtics 19 def Magic 16
What a game! Magic went in being firm favourites because Celtics hadn’t won a game all season.
It was a great game played by all, with the end result a surprising win by Celtics.
Bulls 31 def Heat 22
Bulls led all the way, although it was a close game for the first half.
It was a tough game, with all players giving everything they had.
The Bulls’ win puts them straight into the grand final.
