Applications are now open for the 2018 Major Grants funding with the Community Fund Goulburn Valley calling for entries.
Last year, the Community Fund approved funding to the value of $103729 to 12 organisations from Shepparton and surrounding areas for projects including equipment for Men’s Sheds, inclusive access to a community house and health, kitchen and cooking programs.
The Community Fund Goulburn Valley chief executive officer Andrea McNab said the Community Fund prided itself on assisting local community groups to get their projects off and running.
‘‘We experience a high demand for our major grants,’’ Ms McNab said.
‘‘Many of these organisations are either unable, or find it difficult, to raise funds themselves.’’
All funds distributed via the grants are raised from within the local community and are distributed via the grant process.
‘‘The process is simple and not too daunting for applicants, however, they do need to have a specific project with a clear goal and purpose, which will be of benefit to their group and the community,’’ Ms McNab said.
The grants are available to community organisations in the region bounded by and including Shepparton, Euroa, Cobram, Nathalia, Tongala, Stanhope, Rushworth and Tatura.
■Application guidelines and forms are now available at The Community Fund’s website www.thecommunityfund.com.au and applications close on Friday, June 29.
