Creating path of memories

Gowrie Park Pre-School is building a path of memories with help from the local community.

The kindergarten has recently created wonderful outdoor spaces to help with the children’s sensory learning, including a mud kitchen, rock stream and citrus trees.

‘‘We want the children to be engaged in different sorts of imaginative play,’’ Gowrie Park Pre-School kindergarten teacher Lynda Ashcroft said.

It was also fortunate to receive a large donation of kangaroo paw plants from the Goulburn Valley Tree Group.

To complement the recent works on the sustainability garden, fundraising co-ordinator Simone Dunne was inspired to create a brick path filled with the names of past, present and future families or businesses.

The path will serve as a reminder of those associated with the pre-school over the years.

‘‘This will be opened up to new families who join our pre-school each year so it will remain an ongoing project and something that is very special and unique, a creation of memories,’’ Mrs Dunne said.

The kinder is looking forward to sharing the names of those who take part, while continuing to build their gardens with the extra fundraising.
