The water industry is celebrating 30 years of friendship and fellowship on the green.
The 30th annual Water Industry Golf and Bowls Day is being held on Friday, May 18, at Tatura’s Hill Top Golf and Country Club.
The event is held at the end of the water season each year, with industry networks coming together for a day of fellowship and camaraderie.
‘‘It’s a wonderful way for our industry to keep connected and in touch,’’ organiser and former water industry employee David Roberts said.
More than 100 golfers and 40 barefoot bowlers are expected to play on their home turf this year, in a bid to take home the prestigious Harry Ryan Memorial Trophy.
During the past 30 years the Water Industry Golf and Bowls Day has raised more than $200000 for local charities.
This year proceeds raised will go towards The Community Fund Goulburn Valley, which will redistribute funds raised back into the community via local educational scholarships and community grants.
‘‘The day is a way to rekindle old friendships and meet new industry fellows on the golf course or bowling green,’’ Mr Roberts said.
‘‘We then get to kick back and reminisce about old times in the clubhouse afterwards.’’
