Runners take off from the starting line in front of the hospital.

Ruby Dainton, 8, and Mary Lou Ford of Tatura enjoy the run.

More than 150 people attended the Tatura Hospital and Parkvilla Aged Care Fun Run yesterday.

The run started at 9am from the Tatura Hospital before winding through the fairways on the back nine of the Hill Top Golf Club and Cussen Park.

‘‘We had 100 people enter including families, the weather was great and everyone enjoyed running through the golf course,’’ fun run organiser Carl Walters said.

Almost $2000 was raised for the Tatura Hospital and Parkvilla Aged Care Facility to go towards new beds and improvements to the palliative care rooms.

‘‘It was a great community day with money raised for a great cause,’’ Mr Walters said.

Twenty awards were presented, including to winners of the long run, mystery children’s prizes and spot prizes, with vouchers and gift packs from sponsors including Tatura Vic Hotel and Tatura Milk.
