April 26, 2018

Tatura Hospital and Parkvilla Aged Care facility residents will benefit from the funds raised from the Fun Run.

Tatura Hospital and Parkvilla Aged Care Fun Run is on Sunday, April 29.

The run starts at the Tatura Hospital in Park St, including the fairways on the back nine holes of the Hilltop Golf Course and Cussen Park.

Three distances will be available, the 4.5km family and pram friendly walk, a 7.3km fun run and the 10.8km long run — starting at 9am with registrations at 8am.

Money raised from the event will go to the Tatura Hospital and Parkvilla Aged Care facility to put towards improvements around the facility under the guidance of the Community Advisory Committee.

‘‘Current priorities include new beds and also improvements to the Palliative care rooms,’’ Goulburn Broken Catchment Management Authority sustainable irrigation manager Carl Walters said.

Prizes will be awarded for the long run, mystery kids prizes and spot prizes across the board, followed by a barbecue.

‘‘There is also a plant stall running that staff and hospital residents arrange selling succulents as well as a gold coin donation sausage sizzle and morning tea provided by the Ladies Auxiliary,’’ Mr Walters said.

‘‘The organising committee are really looking forward to getting a good crowd and seeing plenty of locals and visitors getting out moving around; the course will be great and something a bit different.

‘‘Hopefully it will be great weather and we can raise some funds for a great facility in Tatura.’’

Entry cost is $20 per adult, $30 per family, $5 under 16, Entry forms are available from Tatura Hospital.
