A Grade winner Jan Coe and president Frances Mark with B Grade winner Di Ballantyne.

The Stableford-Presidents day event was generously sponsored by president Francie Mark.

A request by Francie was that she did not want to receive any presents from fellow golfers, as is the norm, but to donate money to the good cause of Riding for the Disabled.

The monies were counted at the end of the day, with Francie proudly announcing more than $329.20 had been raised. This was a great effort on behalf of the players, visitors from Cowes Golf Club and non-playing members.

Following lunch, Francie, Deb and Janette provided a delicious afternoon tea of sponges, yo-yos and cream puffs for everyone to enjoy.

The winner in A-grade was Jan Coe with an excellent score of 39 points, while Terri Wangeman was runner-up with 36 points.

Di Ballantyne had the best score for the day in B-grade. With greens recently cored, it was no mean feat to score 41 points.

Runner-up in B-grade, with another good score of 39 points, was Wilma Saunders.

Ball winners: Pat Serra 37 points, Sheryl Curran, Deb Reilly 36, Di Day and Josie De Ieso 35.

Nearest-the-pins: third Gallery Café, Di Ballantyne; sixth Tatura Hot Bread, Lois Rogers; ninth Café Alofa, Deb Reilly; 14th One4One Café, Jan Coe.

Nine-hole competition: Lois Rogers won with 16 points.

Wednesday’s event: stroke-monthly medal, sponsored by Drummond Golf; first round Silver Spoon; first round Mona McLeod; second round Hill Top Brooch.

Nine-hole competition: back nine.
