The 12th annual Toolamba Fishing Club ‘‘catch and release’’ Easter Classic ran across Good Friday and Saturday.
With the weather delivering plenty of sunshine, more than 300 people attended, making it the biggest competition to date.
Toolamba Fishing Club president Trevor Anderson said the river level was up and 65 children entered the event.
‘‘It’s great to see the kids and families out on the water and the health of the river was looking great,’’ Mr Anderson said.
Clint Brisbane caught the biggest Murray cod at 63cm and the major prize (ISHP Suzuki Outlander motor) went to Lee Crosby for his 47cm yellowbelly.
‘‘Special thanks to our sponsors, including Boats and More for donating the motor,’’ Mr Anderson said.
The traditional pasta and fish meal was enjoyed on Friday night and competition finished at 4pm on Saturday.
