Historian Ross McMullin will be travelling to libraries to speak about his latest book Pompey Elliott At War: In His Own Words.
He will be at Euroa, Shepparton, Numurkah, Cobram and Nagambie libraries from Saturday, March 17, to Monday, March 19.
Pompey Elliott was Australia’s most famous fighting general in World War I, and his leadership was crucial in a number of Australian triumphs.
The book features his personal narrative of the conflict, with forthright, emotional and somewhat controversial letters and diaries used to highlight the tale.
Dr McMullin is an award-winning biographer who has researched and written extensively on Australia’s involvement in World War I, and on the impact on Australia of the country’s involvement in the war.
His biographies include Pompey Elliott and Farewell, Dear People: Biographies of Australia’s Lost Generation.
