Quilters, craft enthusiasts and people interested in learning a new hobby are invited to be a part of A Very Snuggly Quilt Day in Toolamba on Saturday, March24.
Hosted by the Toolamba Craft Group, the event is organised by the Victorian Quilters Inc. Australia, and is entering its second year.
The Very Snuggly Quilt Program provides handmade quilts to long-term or regular patients at the Royal Children’s hospital in Melbourne.
Everyone on the day is involved in the process of creating the quilt, sharing their skills and experience to create a much-loved gift for children.
The quilts are delivered once a month with volunteers selecting appropriate quilts for each child.
Toolamba Craft Group member Rhonda White is looking forward to the event.
‘‘It’s a great day to learn from others and share time with other quilters,’’ Ms White said.
‘‘People of all skills levels can come along. There will be a range of jobs on the day.’’
The Very Snuggly Quilt Day will run from 9.30am to 4pm.
Attendees must bring a sewing machine (with 1/4inch foot), power-board, scissors, needle pins and any bobbins or reels of thread that only have a little left.
Remember to bring a mug and some lunch.
All fabric will be supplied on the day.
■Toolamba Craft Group meets every Saturday and is open to all interested in quilting, sewing, crocheting and all general craft activities.
