People are being urged to think ahead in the lead up to Christmas and make a booking earlier rather and later to register their car, truck, motorcycle, caravan, boat or trailer or they may risk missing out in the lead up to the Christmas holiday period.
VicRoads regional director Nicki Kyriakou said that in the weeks leading up to Christmas, the customer service centres in Benalla, Shepparton, Wangaratta, Cobram and Wodonga experience a ‘‘boom’’ in new and renewal registrations.
‘‘In the lead up to Christmas the demand for appointments to register a vehicle can double and people can wait up to two weeks for an appointment,’’ she said.
‘‘We do our best to meet the increased demand this time of year brings, but there is no guarantee of an appointment — unless you book early.
‘‘It would be a great shame if the holiday you wait for all year is ruined because you cannot use your equipment, so our message is simple, book now to avoid disappointment.’’
If you plan to hit the water in a boat or jet ski or take that road trip in a caravan to visit family or go camping with your trailer, make sure your ride is registered.
