The 4BBB stableford event was generously sponsored by Décor Blitz and played in warm conditions.

Joyce Baird and Bev Roberts combined well to win the day with 45 points.

Runners-up were Sheryl Curran and Robyn Downs with 43 points. Curran was happy to score four points on a couple of holes to enhance their score.

Décor Blitz Pens substituted the usual ball run-down and were happily received by Janette Hayward and Di Ballantyne with 42 points and Sue Turnbull and Josie De Ieso with 41 points.

Décor Blitz also sponsored the nearest the pins, which were won by Sue Turnbull on the third, Bev Roberts on the sixth, Terri Wangeman on the ninth and Elaine Dunk on the 14th.

Nine-hole competition: Lois Rogers continued her good form to win the competition with 21 points.

Golden putter competition: Mandy McGrath was excited to have holed the golden ball, winning the not so large bootie, as it was only last week that Bev Roberts had holed out.

Pennant: The flag day was played last Monday at Kialla Golf Course, including the final between Hill Top and Cobram-Barooga.

The weather was sunny and the course was in excellent condition.

Many women played in the 4BBB stableford event while the final was being played. Congratulations to Cobram-Barooga on winning the pennant, defeating Hill Top 4-1. All games were played in good spirit and a delicious lunch was enjoyed back at the club house.

Hill Top players were disappointed to lose, but happy to have won the west zone and were presented with the runners-up badge.

The pennant team celebrated back home at Hill Top, where Lou and Brian volunteered to open the bar, and fellow lady members provided plates of food to share.

A great night was spent together. Captain Bev congratulated the pennant team on its west zone win and thanked members for their support. We are all hoping to bring home the pennant next year.

Wednesday’s event: stroke-monthly medal: sponsored by Drummond Golf, 8.30am to 9am start. Nine-hole competition: front nine.
