Tatura's Carol Neave took out second prize - A Good Guys white goods package. She is pictured with Rodney Arthur from The Good Guys Shepparton.

It had been a stressful week for Tatura’s Carol Neave when she received an exciting phone call.

After visiting her daughter in hospital, Ms Neave said she turned on her phone to discover the news that she had won second place in The Community Fund GV’s Monster Raffle.

‘‘I was absolutely delighted,’’ Ms Neave said.

In need of a new fridge, Ms Neave said the second place Good Guys white goods package was the perfect prize.

The news came as a slight shock to Ms Neave who said she could not recall where she had purchased the ticket from.

‘‘I thought — where’d I buy that?’’ she said, but finally remembered it had been from Tatura Rotary Club secretary Jo Burgess.

Ms Neave thanked the Good Guys for the incredible prize at a celebratory event held at the Audi Centre Shepparton last week.

Rodney Arthur from the Good Guys Shepparton said it was a privilege for them to be associated with the raffle.

‘‘It’s really good for Shepparton,’’ Mr Arthur said.

‘‘Thank you for letting us be involved.’’

Strathmerton’s Glenn Kelly took out the top prize — a brand new A1 Audi — in the huge raffle that saw $38500 raised for the community.
