Nominate a deserving sports person today

Nominations are now open for the 2017 Victorian Sport Awards.

Member for Northern Victoria Mark Gepp has encouraged communities to nominate stand-out coaches, sportspeople and teams for the Victorian Sports Awards.

‘‘If you know someone from your sporting community who is an unsung champion, now is the time to nominate them for a Victorian Sports Award,’’ Mr Gepp said.

The Victorian Sport Awards will take place at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre on Wednesday, March 14.

The sports awards cover the following categories: Victorian coach of the year; community coach of the year; Victorian official of the year; Victorian community official of the year; Victorian sports administrator of the year; Victorian young volunteer of the year; Victorian community sporting club of the year; Victorian masters sport award; Victorian team of the year; Victorian young team of the year; Victorian young athlete of the year; Victorian male athlete of the year; Victorian female athlete of the year; Victorian local government initiative of the year; Victorian sport development initiative of the year; Victorian community sporting event of the year; Victorian service to community sport and recreation; and outstanding contribution to Victorian sport.
