Rapt with response

November 30, 2017

Tatura singer Anthony Lucas is back in his home town performing.

Tatura’s own superstar Anthony Lucas has been blown away by the response to his newly released music produced by Los Angeles-based Indasoul Records.

Anthony’s first single from his EP, Nothing to Lose and the accompanying music video were launched last Tuesday and fans in his home town saw Anthony perform live at the Tatura Community Market on Saturday.

‘‘I haven’t performed here for years and it’s good to be back performing where it all started,’’ Anthony said.

Anthony, now 19, went to school at Tatura’s Sacred Heart Primary and did his high schooling at Notre Dame College in Shepparton and said he had always had great support here.

The video clip for Nothing to Lose reached more than 2000 views the day after it was released and Anthony said it continues to climb every day.

‘‘People have sent me videos of them singing my songs on social media and everyone has been so positive,’’ he said.

‘‘I’ve always wanted to use my talent for entertainment, I want to make people smile.’’

Anthony has been singing since he could first use his voice and knew he wanted to make music.

In 2013 he created an album with local music producers, but really found his feet in 2014 when he competed in the World Championships of Performing Arts where he was scouted by Indasoul Records.

Anthony said during his overseas trip in August it was such an experience working with song writers, producers, directors, who have worked for many pop stars, such as Beyonce.

Anthony is heading back to LA for further recording and performances in the near future and hopes to eventually secure a contract with a company such as Capitol or Sony.
