Staff, residents their family members celebrated the Spring Racing Carnival in style at Moyola Aged Care last week with a special Oaks Day event.

The event saw those present dress up in racewear finery as well as the facility itself, which also got ‘‘dressed up’’ for the occasion.

Moyola’s glass cabinet in the corridor near the dining room received a face-lift thanks to ‘‘everything man’’ Russ O’Halloran.

According to the aged-care facility, he and some helpers created an amazing scene as a tribute to all things racing with vintage silks, old paraphernalia and horse equipment.

‘‘The scenes that Russ creates are always hugely popular and a big talking point with residents and our guests,’’ they said.

‘‘Thanks Russ; we can’t wait to see what you dream up next.’’
