Tatura Primary School students and staff were preparing for the year ahead as they welcomed the new Foundation students for 2018 recently.
Principal Susanne Gill said there was a lot of excitement as the future students entered the classroom and enjoyed some time together as real school students.
‘‘Providing opportunities for a smooth transition from kindergarten to school is a feature of our program here at Tatura Primary School,’’ Mrs Gill said.
‘‘We ensure that students have ample opportunities to familiarise themselves with the school, the staff, the grounds and all the other resources for learning.’’
While the students were in class with current Foundation teachers Rachel Farrar and Amanda Ross, Mrs Gill met with all the parents over a cuppa and was able to answer any questions they had.
‘‘The students had a great morning,’’ Mrs Gill said.
‘‘They all proudly wore their new T-shirts to let everyone know they’ll be big school children next year.’’
