Dhurringile Primary School students in Years 3 to 6 entered the Australian Mathematics Competition in July this year and were very successful.
Principal Angela Holleran congratulated James Darby, Maggie Harrison, Georgia Darby, Andee Harrison and Ellie Merriman on their achievement.
Students who achieved a distinction were placed in the top 20 per cent of their age group across the nation.
Students achieving a credit were in the top 55 per cent of their age group across the nation, and proficiency certificates were awarded to the top 80 per cent.
The results were as follows:
James Darby (Year 6) credit; Maggie Harrison (Year 4) distinction; Georgia Darby (Year 4) credit; Ellie Merriman (Year 4) proficiency; and Andee Harrison (Year 3) distinction.
‘‘At Dhurringile PS our students receive individual programs, which support and extend their skills across all areas, Our small classes allow us to stretch our students so they reach for the stars,’’ Ms Holleran said.
‘‘We are all very proud of our students and the way they ‘aim high’ to excel in maths.’’
