There were many students who dressed in the Harry Potter theme.

The Star Wars theme was a popular one.

Many students came as Alice in Wonderland or one of the whacky characters from the story.

The staff members didn't forget to join in the fun either.

Tatura Primary School celebrated all things book last week, which culminated in a dress-up day on Friday.

Principal Susanne Gill said every year parents, staff and students all looked forward to the school’s dress-up day.

‘‘We hold the day to celebrate reading,’’ Ms Gill said.

Students spent the week visiting the book fair in the school’s library, where they could purchase books to read and enjoy.

Ms Gill said students dressed in an array of costumes and the classics were well-represented.

‘‘There were lots of good old favourites, such as Harry Potter, The Wizard of Oz, superheroes and princesses,’’ she said.

‘‘A few scary looking zombies also turned up.

‘‘The staff got into the swing of things, too.

‘‘Even Clifford the Dog was seen wagging his tail around the school.’’
