Drew Cook kicks off the 50km ride at last year's Tatura 200.

The Tatura 200 Charity Bike Ride turns 10 years old on Saturday with more than 300 cyclists and walkers expected to hit the roads all in the name of charity for the event.

The past 10 years has seen the event raise almost $750000 for community groups, charities and organisations in the Goulburn Valley and surrounding areas.

This year’s event will once again support the VincentCare Victoria Hume Community Hub through Marian Community, an organisation that supports women and children affected by domestic violence.

The event will also provide funding towards; The Community Fund’s Goulburn Valley Education Lift Off Scholarships, Tatura Walks & Rides Group, Give Me 5 For Kids, FamilyCares Sporting Chance program, Teen Challenge and a number of service organisations.

Event manager Georgia Odgers said they were so proud to have raised $110000 in sponsorship this year, with an accumulative of almost $750000 in the past 10 years.

‘‘We extend a huge thank you to our many valued sponsors, volunteers and participants that support the event year after year,’’ Ms Odgers said.

The action begins at the Tatura Italian Social Club on Saturday with a variety of ride events including: 25km, 50km, 100km and 200km distances or a 44km Cross Country Bike Ride.

For those who don’t want to cycle there is a 10km walk.

Registrations are still open at www.tatura200.com.au

Free kids activities will be on offer from 10am, and the community is invited to come and support riders.
