G’day, my name’s Declan Martin, and you’ll be seeing more of me around Tatura soon as the new Guardian reporter.
I’m excited to start with the Guardian.
I look forward to reporting all the news happening in the town and look forward to meeting as many people as possible.
My colleague Tara Whitsed is passing on the baton and has done a great job with the newspaper, but I’m hoping to add some new ideas and I’m open to changing it up.
Tatura was my first port-of-call when I arrived in the Goulburn Valley and I lived in the bustling town for close to nine months before a move to Shepparton.
When I lived in Tatura, I played soccer with the Tatura Ibis’ reserve side; and I just overall enjoyed my time in the town tasting the awesome food at its local bakeries and pubs and going for runs in Cussen Park.
I will be juggling my time between the Tatura and Shepparton, but welcome phone calls, emails and am more than happy to organise catch ups to discuss the big issues in Tatura.
I’ll be in town at the Tatura Community House generally on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, but if you are looking to get a hold of me it’s best to contact me first.
