A look back at Tat

October 06, 2017

Rosella at Tatura in a bygone decade.

Clearly occupational health and safety measures were vastly different many decades ago.

The above image, courtesy of the Lost Tatura Facebook page, shows workers at Rosella in Tatura stacking cans while precariously standing on other stacked cans in the process.

Rosella began with six employees in Flinders St in 1895, and was one of Australia’s best-known brands, operating six factories with 1000 staff, at the time Unilever took over.
