Merrigum Bowls Club has launched its season.

Now that the football season is finished, it’s time to finally concentrate on the bowls.

Merrigum Bowls Club’s opening day was a great social success and all players enjoyed the afternoon.

President John welcomed everyone and wished them all the best for the coming season.

Winners for the afternoon were John Firmer, Ken Phillips and Pat Hubble.

Pennant practice is held every Thursday at 4pm. The club hopes to see you there.

Meals start on Thursday, October 5 at 6pm, when the club will also host a group from Hill Top Golf and Country Club who will play social bowls with us and join us for dinner.

It will take the form of a practice match.

If you are available for this event please notify Joe as soon as possible on 0428552466.

The next bus trip is to Tocumwal on Sunday, October 8.

The bus will leave Kyabram at 9am and Merrigum at 9.15am.

The cost is still only $5 for the bus trip and a two-course meal.

If you would like to book a seat on the bus ring John Firmer on 0447711842.

To celebrate 50 years of bowls at Merrigum, the club will host a lunch on Sunday, October 15 at 11.30am, followed by a game of bowls.

We believe we have contacted everyone concerned but if you have not been contacted by next Sunday, please ring Maureen on 58552421.

We would appreciate any memorabilia to added to our collection.

The cost of the meal will be $25.
