Tatura Sacred Heart Primary’s Mercy Centre was filled with book characters of every kind last week as students celebrated Book Week with a dress-up parade.
From Harry Potter to Ironman, the students dressed in their favourite characters and paraded through the centre while family and friends watched on.
The staff were no exception with principal Pauline Hindson dressed as a witch and deputy principal Matt Cameron donning an Angry Birds costume.
Book Week is run each year by The Children’s Book Council of Australia when schools, libraries, booksellers, authors, illustrators and children celebrate Australian children’s literature.
The theme for this year’s Book Week, held from August 19 to 26, was Escape to Everywhere.
