Golden guitar winning Kyabram country music artist Reg Poole will perform at the Harston Hall’s upcoming concert next month.
Shake off the winter blues and enjoy the atmosphere in the luxury of a centrally heated hall with a sumptuous supper to follow.
Reg will perform some old favourites and possibly a sing-a-long to set the scene of the evening with guest artists Kim Ritchie, J.R. Williams and John Mathewson also performing on the night.
Kim enjoys entertaining her audience with a mix of country, gospel and rock music, at times interspersed with a touch of comedy.
She has produced a number of albums such as A different side of me, From me to you and Suds in the Bucket.
As a blind performer, music is her life.
‘‘God didn’t give me sight, but he game me the ability to sing and play guitar and that obviously makes up for what I haven’t got,’’ Kim said.
J.R. Williams has recorded a number of singles and albums, namely Country from the Heart, Mustering Time and Back on the Road.
He has hosted the Victorian/National country music awards, which are broadcast by satellite across Australia.
John Mathewson is a country artist who comes from nearby Kyabram.
His repertoire includes old and modern country music and of course, some 1950-60s rock ’n’ roll.
Each artist will showcase their individual style and the night promises to suit all country music fans.
The concert will be held next month, Saturday, August 19, from 7.30pm. Tickets cost $20 each and can be purchased from Generations Op-shop at 119-121 Hogan St, Tatura, or alternatively by phoning Sally on 0447581660 or Heather on 58548377.
All proceeds will go towards improving and maintaining the old-time country hall of which the committee is most proud of.
Come along and enjoy the night.
