Tatura's Kindergarten students enjoyed listening to a story while they visited Sacred Heart Primary recently.

Tatura’s upcoming Prep students experienced the classroom last month when they travelled to Sacred Heart and Tatura Primary Schools.

Sacred Heart principal Pauline Hindson said she, along with Tatura Primary School principal Susanne Gill, and the teachers from Gowrie Park Preschool and Tatura Children’s Centre formed part of an Early Alliance Team in the town.

‘‘We meet regularly to ensure the transition between school and kinder is a smooth and exciting experience for all,’’ Ms Hindson said.

She said as part of the program, Year 5 students from each of the primary schools visited the two preschools while the children coming up into Prep visited each of the schools.

‘‘Kindergarten children spend time in a Prep classroom, experience a little taste of what school is going be like and usually have a play in the playground,’’ Ms Hindson said.

Ms Hindson said the youngsters enjoyed listening to a story, singing songs, using the iPads and Bee-Bots and playing in the playground while they were at Sacred Heart recently.
