Deb has a winter win

A hint of winter was in the air as players prepared to play in the stroke monthly medal event sponsored by Drummond Golf.

Deb Reilly enjoyed her day, winning A-grade and the monthly medal with 95-24-71 nett.

Runner-up was Judy Baker scoring 95-21-74 nett.

Janine Morgan continued her good form from the weekend to win B-grade with 103-30-73 nett.

Runner-up was Bev Roberts with 101-26-75 nett on a countback.

Scratch winner was Terri Wangeman with 90 strokes.

Ball winners were Lyn Flett on 75 and Beryl Home, Liz Mulcahy and Terri Wangeman with 76 nett.

Sheryl Curran was nearest the pin on the third hole, sponsored by Gallery Café, and the Tatura Hot Bread sixth.

Robyn Downs was closest on the ninth (Café Alofa), while Terri Wangeman was nearest the pin on the 14th (One 4 One).

Lois Rogers claimed the nine-hole competition with 37 nett.

Junior golf lessons

Hill Top junior lessons, co-ordinated by Elaine Dunk, will be held on Sunday, followed by August 13 and September 10.

Lessons will run from 10.30am to noon.

Children should bring their own clubs if they have them, but not essential.

Cost is $5.

Ladies’ golf lessons

Lessons for beginners will be held at Hill Top on Sundays and are open to members and non-members.

One-hour group lessons will cost $5 per person with the proceeds going to women’s golf development.

These lessons are conducted by experienced Hill Top women golfers.

Golf is a very social activity and a great way to exercise.

Come along to Hill Top Golf Club at 1pm on July 9, August 13 and September 10 to learn this wonderful game.

Bring your own golf clubs if you have them, but it is not essential as clubs will be provided.

Coming events

Wednesday’s event is a four-ball stableford sponsored by Victoria Hotel. Cost for the Royal Women’s Hospital event is $7 per pair.
