Emergency services personnel deal with the injured after last Tuesday's collision at Ardmona.

A third person has died following the fatal collision of a mini-bus and a taxi near Shepparton last week.

A Shepparton woman, 91, died in hospital on Saturday night.

This follows the death of a woman, 95, on Friday and a woman, 80, who died at the scene of the collision.

The collision happened about 3.30pm at the intersection of Pyke and Turnball Rds, Ardmona, on Tuesday.

The mini-bus had been transporting elderly residents from Shepparton’s Mercy Place.

Nine residents were returning from an outing to a local bakery, with a staff member and two volunteers, when the mini-bus and the taxi collided.

Two of the residents were flown to Melbourne hospitals by air ambulance for treatment.

The other 12 people were treated at the scene and taken to Goulburn Valley Health.

The taxi driver involved in the collision appeared at Shepparton Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday after being charged with dangerous driving causing death.

Jatinder Panesar of Kialla was bailed under strict conditions and was due to reappear in court on October 24.
