Heather Long wont he stableford event to take home the painting sponsored by Sue Nihill.

The stableford event, sponsored by Sue Nihill, was keenly contested in the hope of winning one of Sue’s original paintings.

The weather was perfect for golf as was the condition of the course.

Heather Long was the happy recipient of Sue’s painting, scoring 36 points.

Heather won on a countback from Robyn Downs.

Third prize went to Beryl Home, who had not played for about three weeks, but had not lost any form, winning with 33 points on countback.

Ball Winners: Deb Reilly 33, Pauline Moroney 32, Di Ballantyne 31 points.

Nearest-the-pins: third Gallery Café, Liz Mulcahy; sixth Tatura Hot Bread, Bev Roberts; ninth Café Alofa, Terri Wangeman; 14th One 4 One Café, Pauline Moroney, who also won the Crows Nest. Not a great week to win it, as the prize was just two balls, with the nest being cleaned out just last week.

The nine-hole competition was won once again by perpetual winner Joyce Tavener. Runner-up was Janet Leahy, who is back playing golf after some time away.

Wednesday’s event: Stroke Monthly Medal, sponsored by Drummond Golf, HT Brooch, third Silver Spoon, first round Mona McLeod. Nine-hole event: front nine.
