Tatura's Anthony Lucas will soon head to the United States with the aim of recording an EP.

Tatura’s Anthony Lucas, 18, will soon fly to the United States, after announcing he had signed with US record label Indasoul Records earlier this year.

With the aim of recording an EP, the opportunity comes off the back of his strong showing on Australian television’s X Factor in 2015 when he wowed judges and reached the boot camp stage of the competition.

The teenager also took his talents to local stages last year when he performed a regional tour across Victoria and NSW after he began performing at just six years old.

Soon to leave his parents in Tatura, Lucas said he could not wait for the project to begin.

‘‘I hope I can make Tatura and the Shepparton region proud,’’ he said.

Lucas will have a jam-packed program of recording ahead of him while also filming on-location music videos.

Production director Marc Williams said he was looking forward to making some hits with the emerging Australian artist.

Scheduled to fly out of the country soon, Lucas will perform at one last concert before heading to the US.

He will take to the stage at this year’s finals of the Mulwala Water Ski Club’s Got Talent on Sunday, June18, where he will perform two songs as a guest artist.
