Handicapper working overtime

Tony Borrelli was to the fore, winning B-grade for the second week in a row.

There was another good roll-up for Merrigum’s Saturday competition, although that should come as no surprise since the event was par.

There could be no better way to end one season and look forward to the next with opening day being held this coming Saturday.

Three players finished with +2 and once again Tony Borrelli was to the fore, winning B-grade for the second week in a row.

Also for the second time in a week the handicapper will relieve Tony of a shot from his handicap as he continues his good run of form.

There was a countback required to determine the A-grade winner with Simon Doherty getting the nod over John Fuller after both finished with +2.

It came as no surprise that the results were forwarded to the scribe almost before the results were announced this week after the president notched up a win.

Simon, too, will have one shot less to play with next week after the handicapper was able to extract some revenge for the reptile incident of several weeks ago.

The three aforementioned players were the ball competition winners while nearest-the-pins were won by James Campbell on the sixth, Wayne Thorson on the ninth, Tony Borrelli again for the second week on the trot on the jackpot 12th and Daniel Clarkson with a ripping shot on the 14th.

This coming Saturday is opening day and the event is men’s and ladies’ 4BBB stableford.

Assembly is at noon for a 12.30pm shotgun start.
